Aeration equipment is a core component of wastewater treatment, injecting air into the water to promote microbial metabolism. It creates a gas-liquid contact interface, enabling both oxygen transfer and mixing, directly impacting biochemical treatment efficiency. Aeration equipment can be categorized into various types based on mass transfer principles and is widely used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.
The flat-plate diaphragm aerator, developed in the 1980s, features small aeration bubble diameters, a small gas-liquid interface diameter, a large gas-liquid interface area, uniform bubble diffusion, no clogging, and strong corrosion resistance.
Air pipe design should consider pressure balance and form a ring network. Each inlet pipe group should be equipped with a valve to facilitate air volume adjustment. Designed flow rate for air pipes: 10-15 m/s for main pipes and 5 m/s for branch pipes. Installation height of aerator surface from pool bottom: 270mm, 250mm, 200mm for push-plate type.
Flat-plate diaphragm aerators feature small bubble diameters, a small gas-liquid interface diameter, and a large gas-liquid interface area, ensuring uniform bubble diffusion without clogging. They also offer strong corrosion resistance. Testing has shown that these devices reduce energy consumption by 40% and increase wastewater treatment capacity by 40% compared to conventional fixed spiral aerators, diffused flow aerators, and perforated tube aerators. They are particularly suitable for urban sewage treatment, the construction and expansion of large industrial plants, and the renovation of existing aeration tanks. Furthermore, these aeration tanks can operate intermittently.
